Using High Impact Practices to Advance Equity and Student Success Outcomes

Recorded Webinar | Dr.Jerald Henderson | Dec 20 ,2023 | 1:0:pm EST | 60 Minutes

Description

The webinar will discuss the importance of identifying student success outcomes based on targeted student populations on a college campus (i.e., minoritized students, and first-generation students). In today’s higher education landscape, the need to identify, develop, and facilitate programs and services for targeted student populations is more important than ever, given the changing demographics across the country. The need for more data-informed practices to advance equity and student success outcomes is more important than ever. The presentation will highlight why the need, and what role institutional self-reflection plays in creating a culture of student success for targeted student populations in order to advance equity and student success.

As a result of this webinar, participants will be able to do the following:

  • How to recognize a student success culture through an equity lens.
  • Identifying the types of data to understand equity gaps among underserved student populations.
  • Identifying the advantages of creating a holistic institutional culture for equity and student success.
  • How to choose between implementing high-impact practices compared to best practices: Is it an either-or proposition when it comes to creating a student success culture for advancing equity?
