Common Surgical Procedures for the Hip and Knee

Recorded Webinar | Lynn Anderanin | Nov 03 ,2021 | 1:0:pm EST | 60 Minutes

Description

Two of the most common surgeries for the hip and knee are arthroscopy and joint replacement.  In arthroscopy procedures are performed into the joint through a scope. Arthroscopy usually involves multiple procedures to treat a number of chronic conditions or acute injuries that cause pain and the inability to walk. Joint replacement too is performed to correct joints that are damaged beyond the repairs performed in arthroscopy. This webinar will discuss the procedures currently being performed regularly and the trends in reimbursement. We will show attendees references to assist incorrect coding and timely reimbursement, trying to avoid denials that are time-consuming and difficult to resolve. Prior authorization and place of service have also become important steps in receiving proper reimbursement and most major insurance carriers have policies that need to be followed prior to these procedures being performed. We will share tricks of the trade that will allow attendees to know what is needed and understand what documentation is necessary to meet the compliance requirements.
